Review: Pan

Second star to the right and straight on 'till morning

We all know the story, Peter and Tinkerbell go to London, the Darlings visit Neverland, the villainous Captain Hook must be overthrown.....
..... but do you know what happened before this?  How did Peter become a Lost Boy in Neverland?  When did Peter and Tinkerbell become friends? How do they know Captain Hook?

Sometimes friends begin as enemies, and enemies begin as friends

Pan tells you this story.  Orphaned as a baby Peter (Levi Miller) grows up, in an orphanage, run by the horrible Mother Barnabas (Kathy Burke), until one night at 12 years old, during the Blitz, he is abducted along with other children by the rotten Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) and his crew and taken to Neverland where they are mining for fairy pixim.

After accidentally finding out he can fly Peter strikes up a friendship with James Hook (Garrett Hedlund)  and together with Sam Siegel 'Smee' (Adeel Akhtar) then take a ship and set sail for the tribal part of Neverland where Peter is led to believe he will find his mother.

Here they meet Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara) who tells him more about his past and leads Peter and Hook to the kingdom of the fairies where he meets Tinker bell and a gruelling battle against Blackbeard takes place.

Who will win?
Will Peter meet his mother?

Ignore the bad reviews that are flooding the internet, this film has a gripping storyline combined with fantastic 3D effects to make Pan a marvel to watch.

We went to the film yesterday curtsey of O2 and See Film First and my 4 and 6 year old were absorbed in the magic the whole way through.  Even the husband came out admitting it "wasn't that bad".

There are a few moments where a young child may be scared, hence why it's a PG.  So if you have children who may be a little nervous or find it hard to see the line between fantasy and reality you may want to watch the film first.

"I liked the way the fairy dust came out at me"  Noah, 4.

"I liked it when Pan and the orphan's go on an adventure." Ben,  6 .

Disclaimer:  We may have won free tickets to this preview but the review is my honest opinion.
