Ice cream milkshake

I was recently sent my first Bzz campaign, to try A2 milk free so naturally with the heat my thoughts turned to milkshake.

Before I tell you how we made it let me explain what makes A2 milk different to normal cows milk.

Cows' milk contains protein, specifically 2 types A1 and A2.   Over the years the A2 protein has decreased and the A1 becomes more dominant in the produced milk.  A2 Milk is naturally rich in only the A2 protein and none of the A1 protein.  This means A2 Milk may provide relief to many of the one in five Brits who struggle to digest cows' milk due to the way it acts on your digestion system.

This may mean that people who think they are lactose intolerant are in fact just reacting to the A1 protein rather than cows milk in general.

A2 milk contains the same calcium levels as normal milk so you won't loose any of the goodness by switching and is fine to use with children (in line with the national guidelines, whole milk after 1 years and semi-skimmed after 2).

Whilst I can't speak for all the benefits when it comes to intolerance's I do know I feel less bloated after using A2 and best off it tastes as good, if not better, then 'normal' cows milk.  I also find some milks feel heavy when you are drinking them, A2 seems a lot lighter.

Coconut, Chocolate and Banana Milkshake

What you need:
A really good splash of milk
Coconut ice cream (2 or 3 or 4 large spoonfuls)
Chocolate (we used buttons)
a banana (cut up)

How to make it
Put everything into a blender and whizz it up until combined and frothy.
Pour into cups with some ice cubes (we use plastic ones so as not to water it down).
Enjoy.

A2 Milk is available in most large supermarkets and retails at £1.99 for 2 litres.

Have a look at their webpage to find out more: http://www.a2milk.co.uk

Disclaimer: we were sent vouchers (for ourselves/ friends and family) to use on A2 milk as part of the Bzz campaign.  what we used then for and how we choose to spread the message is entirely up to us.
