Plot
Frozen is set in the summery kingdom of Arendelle, it follows the cursed life of Elsa and her innocent sister, Anna.

From a young age Elsa has the power to create ice, one day she realises just how powerful this magic is and it is decided that for everyones safety she should be locked away ...... that is until the day of her coronation.

As an eternal winter grips the land, Anna goes to find Elsa along with the rugged Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven and Olaf (a talking snowman).  Will Anna and Arendelle be saved in time?  Will the good guys win and the bad guys get their comeuppance.... watch out for a clever twist in the storyline.

Songs
This is the first musical animation since Tangled 3 years ago and has some brilliant catchy songs that will have you singing for ages....and when you stop your child is bound to set you off again .... some that are sure to make the CD's for years to come include:
- Do you want to build a snowman?
- For the First Time in Forever
- Love is an Open Door
- Let it Go

Additional Information

  • Like some other Disney animations Frozen is based on  a classic story, this time Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tale "The Snow Queen".
  • It is the 53rd animated feature in  the Walt Disney Animated Classics series.
  • Continue watching after the credits to watch an additional bit of film....

Verdict

We loved this film.  I've not been keen on many of the recent Disney films (I figured it was just because I was getting too old for the magic) but with it's catchy tunes and lovable characters this is one I'll be happy to watch time and time again with my boys.

And yes .... there was a moment when I had to wipe away a tear or 2.

Ben and Noah have both spent the day dancing around the house singing "do you want to build a snowman" and we've had the you tube soundtrack clips on a lot of times to try and learn the words (because how annoying is it when you only know 1 line!!)
